Day 6 at the U.S. Open: Mixed Doubles Ignite the Atmosphere in Naples

Day 6 of the Franklin U.S. Open Pickleball Championships 2026 once again confirmed why this tournament is considered the most iconic event in global pickleball. At East Naples Community Park, the spotlight of the day centered on the Pro Mixed Doubles bracket, a category that brought several of the sport’s most recognized players onto the court.

From early in the morning, the stands began to fill. As the day progressed, the atmosphere gradually transformed into what has become a signature of the U.S. Open in Naples: a true sports festival.

On court, several of the tournament’s favored pairs delivered performances that lived up to expectations.

Sewing and Diamond set the pace

One of the most solid performances of the day came from Sofia Sewing and Casey Diamond, who defeated Long and Martina Frantova in a match that remained largely under their control.

Sewing looked steady and composed during the rallies, while Diamond proved decisive at the net, finishing points with authority and maintaining pressure throughout the match. The pair played with structure, rhythm, and minimal errors, managing the contest with clarity.

Waters and DeVilliers advance with authority

Another notable performance came from Anna Leigh Waters and Jay Devilliers, who defeated Glauka Carvajal Lane and Alex Emery in a match they controlled from the opening points.

Waters once again demonstrated her ability to dictate the tempo of play, while Devilliers added power and presence around the kitchen line, allowing the duo to move confidently forward in the draw.

Fudge and Livornese capitalize on opportunities

Meanwhile, Megan Fudge and Richard Livornese Jr. also advanced after an efficient performance.

Their opponents committed several unforced errors, which Fudge and Livornese were quick to capitalize on by maintaining consistency and pressure to close the match without major difficulties.

Munro and Van Reek continue to look strong

Another entertaining match of the day came from the victory of Jack Munro and Roos Van Reek.

The match featured several exciting rallies and quick exchanges near the kitchen line, highlighting the chemistry between the two players. The pair continues to project as one of the most solid teams in the Mixed Doubles draw.

Much more than just matches

But the U.S. Open in Naples is about far more than what happens on the court.

The atmosphere around the courts once again became one of the day’s main highlights. Dozens of fans walked through the park, explored sponsor areas, visited vendor booths, and most importantly enjoyed something that makes this tournament unique: the closeness between players and fans.

It’s common to see professionals stopping for photos, signing hats, or chatting with spectators for a few minutes. Fans truly value this direct connection with the stars of the sport.

As expected in Naples, the organization remains impeccable, with a constant flow of matches and logistics that allow thousands of people to enjoy the event throughout the week.

The television broadcast has also matched the scale of the spectacle, delivering every rally and every emotion to viewers following the tournament from different parts of the world.

The venue itself remains the perfect stage for an event of this magnitude. However, considering the growing attendance and increasing fan interest, it wouldn’t be surprising if in the near future the main stadium capacity expands and additional show courts with greater seating for spectators are developed.

Demand from the public already seems to be one step ahead.

For now, the show goes on.

We continue from Naples.
